CCA MFA IN COMICS BROCHURE
2018, Brush and Watercolor
Project done for the California College of the Arts advertising their MFA in Comics Program.
2016 - Ongoing, felt pen and digital coloring
Master's thesis done at California College of the Arts. Stick World is a world entirely inhabited by stick figures, where books transport their reader into places of extraordinary adventure.
But Pod doesn't live in Stick World. Pod lives in Crapsville, a world entirely covered in sewage.
Pod's one dream is get to Stick World, learn how to become an author, and find a way to writer herself and her family into a better future. But dreams hardly ever match reality, and when Pod does make it to Stick World, it's nothing like she imagined.

IT'S NOT THAT COLD: A MIDWESTERNER'S TALE OF THE 2018 WINTER OLYMPICS
2018, Ink and watercolor
In 2018 I was lucky enough to go with my partner's family to the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang, South Korea.
I made a daily comic of the trip and collected them all into a travelogue about the events that transpired.
365 DAYS OF SELFIES
2015-2017, Ink and Watercolor
A two year long project in which I drew a self portrait every day. After I had drawn 365 days of 'selfies', I collected them into one long strip that measured over 18 feet long and packaged it inside a vending machine capsule.
RED & POD MINI-COMICS
2017, Brush and digital inks, quill and inkwash
These pages are from two different mini-comics, 'Red & Pod Hang with the Cosmic Octopus' and 'Red & Pod Go On a WitchHunt!'.
Both mini-comics are side adventures of Stick World, and I use them to explore new materials and mediums.
A third mini-comic is 'Red & Pod explore the internet!', an interactive web adventure that you can experience by clicking here!
(note: put in headphones)
2018, Ink watercolor and photoshop
One of my 2018 projects is to make a daily journal comic, both as a record and as a practice to improve my own art style.
The following are select days from my project that I then turned into gifs.
3D CAT COMIC
2014, Digital inking, paper and sketchup
A facet of comics that I find fascinating is how to adapt them to into an exhibition setting. Leaving them in their book form forces gallery goers to treat the exhibit like a library, and turning pages into oversized posters doesn't fair much better.
This project was an experimental prototype exploring how to make a three dimensional comic whose narrative could be viewed from all angles. I attempted to make something that had a branching narrative instead of a linear one, so that the story could be understood no matter what direction the viewer approached it from.
This project still needs some work, and I hope to return to it later.
EVERYDAY FEMINISM COMICS
